Urban Cyclists -- From Sprockets to Rockets

See the First Bicycle Ever -- Made of Wood!

As dedicated cyclists -- both urban and suburban -- will agree, the bicycle is the greatest invention of the 19th century. Susan B. Anthony said it gave new freedom to women, to go where they needed to go with just a little pedal power. (OK, she didn't say that bit about pedal power, but she would have liked it.) And bikes are still providing the most fuel-efficient means of transportation since walking for all of us. Come take a tour of the Bicycle Museum -- and follow the intriguing past, present and future of the ever-green two-wheelers

Awesome video! I am cyclist

| petersmith | Nov 3rd, 2009

Awesome video! I am cyclist too, not an urban cyclist though (i cycle in rallies). However, as a cycle enthusiast, the video was intriguing. Really, cycling could save a lot of our present day problems relating to transportations, and its on the most fun and healthiest exercises I know.

It sounds just like few decades ago because people still use bicycle quite a lot in some countries. Now it is the 20th century and the energy-saving transportations has being developed. We can conclude that the worst is the decades between, where there are mass numbers of cars and motorcycles on the roads. Korean Fashion Cayenne Pepper Diet | Printable Address Labels

this is a great video for anyone who wants to learn wise ways to wisely negotiate urban streets and traffic. Hurst articulates the street sense that takes years of riding to acquire. I have been riding as a bike commuter in urban settings for the past 20 years-- this book is on target.

I hope we are still suing bicycle as a amajor transportation media. It is no doubt the safest vehicle for the environment. Also, bicycling is good for or health. We have a tradition at the Concrete Sealer company to go bicycling once in a month.

Speedy, helmets diminish the impact of (not prevent) injuries. My life was saved by a bike helmet when i was knocked off my bike and hit my head on a square post. The impact left a 90 degree impression in the helmet that as ambulance officers and doctors were both adamant that I'd be dead without it advertising . Looking at the helmet it is impossible to argue that it did not diminish the severity of the accident. Of course I sustained other injuries, but it could have been a lot worse. I fear it will be difficult to convince people who confuse a sense of freedom with safety, but I sure hope that if they have children then they don't risk their childrens wellbeing new dvd releases this month along with web design.

Hey there. I like your webisode on bicycles. It's cool to know that bicycles helped in the emancipation of women. This a really interesting piece. Have you ever thought of submitting your webisode to the Primetime Emmy's? I work with the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and they are now giving the opportunity for online content to be eligible to submit for the 2008 Primetime Emmy's. This is the first time the Academy has ever opened the Primetime Emmys to Online Content, so online creators finally get the recognition they deserve.

Check out this video with Marshall Co Creator of Quarterlife and Big Fantastic as they sit down for a minute to talk about how big of an impact the Primetime Emmys are going to have on online content, it's really exciting!

So if you're the creator of this webside or know the creator who made this web series, I strongly recommend that to submit your work to www.emmys.com

The deadline to submit is April 7, 2008. Wouldn't it be really cool if your web series won a Primetime Emmy?

love it
