HP and the NBA are launching an education grant competition, the “HP Digital Assist.” NBA All-Star Antwan Jamison helped tip off the program at an event held at Jefferson Junior High School in Washington, D.C. More than 5,000 students from 100 selected middle schools across the country will compete for $80,000 dollars in HP technology, NBA tickets, and visits from NBA stars. Winners will be announced in December.

IP Business, a social investment fund, has been created to invest in African companies and help producers bring their exports to developed countries. IP Business uses a pioneering method developed by Light Years IP, a D.C.-based NGO, called “Intellectual Property Value Capture.” This process secures significant income for African farmers and producers.
