After cancelling some contracts, I couldn't access them anymore.
When doing the taxes I have to print them anyway myself.
...and what if my computer harddisk crashes?
Times Online said in January 2009:
"Performing two Google searches from a desktop computer can generate about the same amount of carbon dioxide as boiling a kettle for a cup of tea, according to new research.[..]a typical search generates about 7g of CO2"
John Buckley, managing director of carbonfootprint.com estimates "Simply running a PC generates between 40g and 80g [of CO2] per hour"
Another option could be to use low grammage paper (both sided as suggested below) for stuff we need to file and keeping the rest online.
By the way: Doesn't paper store CO2, and isn't the forest industry interested in having trees so they can sell them? (-> if we wouldn't use the wood, the forest may be removed to make money in a different way. E.g. cattle or wheat farms.)
