For those of you who did not see Sandra Bullock featured on Oprah, recently, the highly acclaimed actress has brought out her inner green. She has launched her own line of soy lead-free candles.

The name of her new company is called Bessence. You can buy the candles online, or if you live anywhere near or in Austin, Texas, you can check out the store, Bess: Bistro on Pecan.

The candles are handmade and hand packaged, filled with lots of organic love.
They are made from soy-based wax, AND the wicks are made with 100 percent lead-free paper.
And the packaging is all recyclable products, of course.

There are four different fragrances, all of which are claimed to “complement the dining experience:”

wild bloomers,: A delicate fusion of Texas Wildflower & tangy TX Grapefruit
black cassis: An earthy balance of dark currants & Feu de Bois (firewood)
midnight garden: Light Floral with a hint of Texas Oak, Cedar and Moss
herbes avec lagniappe: Fresh Texas Basil with Herbs and a zest of country lemon

It’s 40 bucks for a 10 oz. candle, not including shipping. They’re a little pricy, so I’d save these for the more romantic of times. But be sure to check out the website at: www.bessbistro.com, and support what’s green!
