Hollywood is set to be the home of California's first eco-friendly nightclub when the Ecco Ultra Lounge opens its doors.

Rather than being a new build the club is recycling the Asian themed Tokio nightclub and will feature a host of eco-friendly enhancements, such as an energy-efficient LED lighting system for the dance floor, organic food and liquors, and state of the art "Dyson Airblades" hand dryers. The club will also offer free valet for hybrid vehicles and will operate a paperless ticket system for clubbers.

The transformation of the venue will be filmed by the Discovery Channel's Planet Green and shown on Alter Eco show, hosted by Entourage star Adrian Grenier.
An opening date has yet to be confirmed, but could be some time in July - the only disadvantage of an eco-friendly club being in LA, of course, is that you may have to wait for the smog to clear before you can find it.
