Bicycle Film Festival Kicks off in NY

The eighth annual Bicycle Film Festival begins in New York tonight, before touring around the US and across the world.

The Festival celebrates all styles of bikes and biking, from Tall Bike Jousting through to Recumbents, and as a global festival, the short films focus on cycling styles and events from all over the globe.

For instance, films this year include 'Balorda', which focuses on an event in Northern Italy where 3000 people come together for a slow three-mile ride while feasting on Lambrusco, pasta, and song; and 'Fumikiri', which takes a look at the rise of urban biking in Japan and the creative riding styles of young Japanese riders.

Other events in the festival include the 1st Annual BFF Bicycle Beauty Pageant and live music events. The festival runs from May 28 - June 1 in New York, and later in the year will travel to Toronto, LA, Chicago, London, Paris and Sydney, amongst other cities.
